Samenvatting
Walter Gropius (1883-1969) was a central figure in the architectural world for half a century. The late Reginald Isaacs was a longtime friend and colleague of Gropius at Harvard. Isaacs had full access to the architect's papers and originally wrote an enormous manuscript that was published only in a German translation (Berlin: Gebr. Mann Verlag, 1983-84). The present volume is that book's abridgment made accessible in its original language to a wider audience. With 157 b&w illustrations. Annotation copyright Book News, Inc. Portland, Or.
